New RUSMP Summer Programs for Middle and High School Students!

RUSMP is offering two new and exciting three-week enrichment mathematics programs at Episcopal High School:
(1) For students entering 8th-grade in the fall of 2017:
Through the lens of computational thinking, students will explore mathematics using technology to develop inductive and visual reasoning. Hands-on activities integrating mathematics and computer science will provide an innovative approach to learning mathematics.
(2) For students who have completed precalculus:
At the end of this program, students will be better equipped for the rigor of college-level mathematics and for success on A.P. Calculus and I.B. Mathematics exams. Proof, justification, and authentic problems will be explored using a variety of methods
including graphing technology and other computing tools.

These two three-week programs are ideal for students who would like to explore mathematics topics that may not be emphasized during the school year. Students will refine and deepen their understanding of important mathematics concepts under the direction of award-winning Rice faculty and staff from the Rice University School Mathematics Project and will receive personalized feedback of their work. Students will leave well-prepared and enthusiastic about mathematics in the upcoming academic year and beyond. To register online, click here.
