- Three representatives from RUSMP presented at the annual conferences of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics in the Spring of 2007. - Jason Gershman was featured in the Spring edition of Rice at Large for his contributions to RUSMP and MLI. Rice at Large is a publication of the Office of Minority Community Affairs and the Office of the Associate Provost of Rice University.
- RUSMP enjoyed another successful Spring Networking Conference on February 24, 2007 at Pin Oak Middle School. Nearly 100 attendees tested their 3-D spacial skills during Dr. Jackie Sack's presentation, 3D: The Foundation for Developing Geometric Thinking.
- RUSMP offered two academic-year courses in the Spring of 2007: Developing the Number Concepts Strand: A Course for K-8 Teachers, and Data Analysis, Probability and Statistics for Middle and High School teachers.
- Dr. Jackie Sack represented RUSMP at the 28th Annual Meeting of PME-NA, the North American Chapter of the International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education. - The RUSMP office, which for the past six years had been located on Greenbriar just across the street from the Rice football stadium, moved to the other side of the Rice Village. The new location as of Ocotber 16, 2006 is 5615 Kirby Drive, Suite 301. The mailing address, however, remains the same. Map and directions.
- The Mathmatics Leadership Institute (MLI) was featured in the Fall 2006 issue of Rice at Large, a publication of the Office of Minority Community Affairs and the Office of the Associate Provost of Rice University.
- The Rice University School Mathematics Project Twentieth Anniversary Celebration Conference was held on Saturday September 9, 2006 on the Rice University campus. See the guestbook and photo album of the event.
- The article "Adding up the results: Math project marks 20 successful years" appeared in the September 7, 2006 edition of the Rice News.
- RUSMP was featured in the initial edition of the Rice at Large, a publication of the Office of Minority Community Affairs and the Office of the Associate Provost of Rice University
- RUSMP offered four academic-year courses in the Fall of 2006. Advanced Topics in Mathematics for Middle and Senior High School Mathematics Teachers, Algebra for Elementary Teachers, Developing the Number Concepts Strand: A Course for K-8 Teachers, and Geometry for Elementary School Teachers.

- Caren Grant, Mathematics Department Chairperson for HISD's Pershing Middle School, and Richard Parr presented The 2004-2005 Pershing/Rice University Math Partnership:PUMPing Up Math Achievement at the Research Presession of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Annual Meeting in St. Louis, Missouri on April 25, 2006.
- Dr. Anne Papakonstantinou, Richard Parr, and Dr. Jackie Sack presented at the Teacher Quality Meeting for Grant Awardees in Austin, Texas on March 27-28. Dr. Sack presented the keynote address; A Framework for Geometry K-12.
- RUSMP Master Teacher Susan Troutman and MLI Lead Teacher Katrina Cushenberry attended the 2006 Leadership Seminar Mathematics Professional Development February 15-18, 2006 in Portland, Oregon.
- Elaine Young, Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, has developed activities for The Geometer's Sketchpad correlated to the RUSMP Geometry Module with funding from the Texas Teacher Quality grant program.
- RUSMP, in conjunction with The Math Forum @ Drexel, presented a Math Tools workshop, Using Technology in the Mathematics Classroom: A Workshop for Mathematics Teacher Leaders at Pin Oak Middle School on Saturday February 4, 2006.
- The Spring Networking Conference was held Saturday February 4, 2006.
- RUSMP is again offering a variety of academic-year courses in the Spring Semester of 2006.

- The RUSMP conference on "Closing the Achievement Gap" was held on June 6, 2005 at Pin Oak Middle School underwritten by the Southwest Educational Development Laboratory. Assistant Secretary of Education, Dr. Susan Sclafani, presented the keynote presentation and the SEDL Closing the Achievement Gap website was featured.
- RUSMP Master Teacher Cedric French was named Houston Independent School District Teacher of the Year for 2005. Congratulations Cedric!
- Paul Cruz, Stacey Turner, Sarah Singletary, and Jennifer Rodriguez (RUSMP research assistants) presented their paper, Building Confidence in the Classroom: The Role of the Master Teacher at the American Educational Research Association annual meeting in Montreal on April 13, 2005.
