These three-week math programs for students entering 8th-grade and for students who have completed precalculus will provide students with opportunities to refine and deepen their understanding of important mathematics concepts necessary for success in future mathematics classes.
(1) For students entering 8th-grade in the fall of 2017:
Through the lens of computational thinking, students will explore mathematics using technology to develop inductive and visual reasoning. Hands-on activities integrating mathematics and computer science will provide an innovative approach to learning mathematics.
(2) For students who have completed precalculus:
At the end of this program, students will be better equipped for the rigor of college-level mathematics and for success on A.P. Calculus and I.B. Mathematics exams. Proof, justification, and authentic problems will be explored using a variety of
graphing technology and other computing tools.
Cost: $950 per student for the 3-week program
