Advanced Topics in Mathematics for Middle and Senior High School Mathematics Teachers

This course is designed for middle school or high school mathematics teachers who are seeking a strong foundation in advanced mathematics topics through a conceptual approach. The primary focus of the course is the development of a catalogue of functions with an emphasis on multiple representations and applications. Technology and mathematical modeling will be used throughout the course.

Concepts include:

  • Properties of functions
  • Transformations of functions
  • Inverses of functions
  • Exponential functions
  • Logarithmic functions
  • Rational functions
  • Trigonometric functions
Each teacher will receive course materials, Gifted and Talented credit, and professional development credit.
