This course is designed for middle and high school teachers who are seeking to strengthen their understanding of statistics and underlying probability theory. The focus of the course includes describing and summarizing data, finding the line or curve of best fit, combinations and permutations, understanding random variables, discrete and continuous probability distributions, conditional probability, sampling methods, and simulations, as well as a brief introduction to hypothesis testing and confidence intervals. Use of manipulatives and technology, both hand-held and computer oriented, is a central focus of the class.

Each teacher will receive course materials and professional development credit.
