This course is designed for K-5 teachers who are seeking a strong understanding of the measurement strand for grades K-5. The focus of the course is developing the concepts of length, area, and volume and applying appropriate measurement techniques, tools, and formulas. Concepts are aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. Emphasis is placed on the vertical alignment of concepts, and on the use of manipulatives to explore measurement concepts.
Each teacher will receive course materials and professional development credit.
