RUSMP Hosted First U.S. Bebras Computing Challenge

RUSMP is proud to have hosted the first US invitational round of the Bebras Computing Challenge on October 1 at Rice University. Houston ISD grades 4-12 students who were top scorers during the 2015 November online challenge were invited to attend the event which included a 45-minute challenge, an inspiring talk by Rice Professor Illya Hicks, and an awards ceremony. Parents and teachers were also welcome and attended a session with Eljakim Schrijvers, the Founder and Contest Director of the Bebras Challenge, who explained the importance of Computational Thinking. The Bebras Computing Challenge introduces Computational Thinking to students and is designed to get students all over the world excited about computing. It is organized in over 30 countries!
