Summer 2026

RUSMP's 40th Summer Campus Program for Teachers (Returning to IN-PERSON!)

  • Summer Campus Program for Elementary Teachers (July 7–17, 2026; from 9am-3pm)
  • Summer Campus Program for Middle School Teachers (July 7–17, 2026; from 9am-3pm)

Content focus:

  • Number concepts, geometry, and measurement (Grades 1-5)
  • Algebraic reasoning, geometry, data analysis and statistics (Grades 6-Alg I)

Emphasis on:

  • Mathematical Knowledge for Teaching (MKT; Ball et al., 2008)
  • Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK; Mishra & Koehler, 2006)
  • Knowing and learning theories
  • Conceptual understanding Active learning
  • Formative and summative assessment
  • Vertical alignment
  • Effective use of AI

Each class will be facilitated by two distinguished RUSMP Master Teachers. There will be colloquia talks by renowned educators and Rice University faculty. Each teacher will receive course materials. Each teacher will receive 54 CPE hours. Houston ISD will award 6 hours of GT credit. Rice graduate credit is available (3 credits).
