On April 9, Dr. Robin A. Ward, RUSMP’s Director of Curriculum Integration, met virtually with a group of middle school students who are part of the Katy Math Circle. This group of avid learners meets monthly to develop problem solving skills by exploring unconventional and creative mathematics problems posed by guest presenters. Robin guided students through a mathematical art gallery featuring works of modern artists, while demonstrating the strong connection between mathematics and the visual arts.

After the lively session, Rosa Aristy, a Katy educator in charge of the Katy Math Circle, wrote to Robin:  "Many thanks to you for your amazing and most inspiring presentation. Our students couldn't stop talking about it after you left. Thanks so much for adding a touch of color, magic, and beauty to their perception of math. I know they will forever keep their 'math goggles' on and realize that math+art=fun! What a great way to end our math circle year!"
