For our 6th Annual School House Mania Event, participating schools and students will enjoy the following:
A day of fun, education, and food at Rice University: all participating students, teachers and administrators will attend a basketball game at Tudor Field House. This will be a regular season game, not an exhibition game. Tickets for this game will be $10 per person, which includes a presentation from RUSMP, a Kid’s Day program, and a healthy lunch, in addition to the game ticket.
A Kid’s Day Program: School House Mania is not only about promoting education and a healthy lifestyle, but challenging the students to learn in a fun way as well. Students will receive a School House Mania program on the day of the game that will feature educational components binding basketball together with core subjects that are taught in your school for that cycle.
School visits from Rice Athletics personnel: the first 5 schools which commit to 350+ students and chaperones will receive a visit from the Rice mascot Sammy the Owl and Athletic Department Staff or players. This will give students the opportunity to meet and interact with individuals who represent one of the most prestigious universities in the U.S. The staff/student athletes will discuss the importance of education, respect, saying no to drugs, and other pertinent topics during their visits.
This event has SOLD OUT every year. We can only serve 4,000 students, so inclusion will be on a first come, first served basis. You can sign up online by clicking HERE.
