A New Section of the Rice University School Mathematics Project’s Enrichment Program for Rising 8th-,9th-, and 10th-Graders

The response to our June enrichment programs for rising 8th-,9th-, and 10th-Graders who will be taking Algebra I or Geometry in the fall of 2018 was huge, and parents want us to offer a new section to accommodate the students on the waiting list and other students who might also want to attend.

This new section will take place for nine days – July 9-12 and July 16-20, (9 –11:30 am). During the first eight days, students will meet in the Rice University School Mathematics Project’s classroom at 5615 Kirby Drive (Suite 300) and on the last day, they will meet on the Rice campus for a mathematics tour of the Rice University campus.

Through the lens of computational thinking, students in this 9-day program will explore mathematics using technology to develop inductive and visual reasoning. Hands-on activities integrating mathematics and computer science will provide an innovative approach to learning mathematics. Upon completion, students will be well equipped for success in their next mathematics course and beyond.

The cost per student to attend this program is $500.
