RUSMP hosts CS Fair for middle and high school students

Nearly 200 middle and high school students from the greater Houston area attended the first Computer Science (CS) Fair hosted by Rice University’s School Mathematics Project (RUSMP) on April 18, 2018 at the Grand Hall on the Rice University Campus. The fair, part of RUSMP's outreach as a Code.org Regional Partner, was designed to further develop students interests in CS by allowing them to interact with student-developed CS projects and participate in activities designed by organizations committed to CS education and Rice University students.

The CS Fair also included a keynote speech, Graphs are Everywhere, by Professor Illya Hicks, Rice University Department of Computational and Applied Mathematics, and student presentations by Rice seniors Molly Reilly, Department of Computer Science, and Mayu Tobin-Miyaji, Departments of Computer Science and Cognitive Sciences.
